BETA conducted a participatory study* with autistic people, families/carers, relevant professionals and researchers that resulted in an evidence-based practice (EBP) framework for technology for autistic people. The framework evaluates the current level of evidence for any digital product for autistic users and that evidence can be of bronze, silver or gold level. The score a product can get ranges between 0 and 3.
Over the course of the past few years the DART lab compiled and evaluated a set of apps designed for and/or used with autistic people. BETA used that dataset to apply their novel EBP framework. More than 200 apps were rated using that framework and more are underway.
⇒ Check out our brand new Apps for autism page! There you can find hundreds of autism apps, links to their websites and an EBP evaluation for each one.
Are you wondering how much evidence there is for an app you are contemplating using?
